Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the more frequently asked questions we get at HITS.

However, if you have a questions that is not addressed here, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Do I need experience with horses to participate at HiTS?

No experience with horses is required.  At HiTS our programs are run by qualified and experienced horsewomen, who will guide and mentor you every step of the way.

Our programs are suitable for all, from the non-experienced to the experienced.   We wholeheartedly welcome all women that would like to participate in a HiTS program.

What will it cost me to participate in a HiTS program?

At HiTS, we provide our programs free of charge to eligible clients.   Our participation eligibility is outlined in our Registration Information that is sent to participants.

We are able to do this with thanks to our generous supporters and volunteer team.

What should I wear?

We recommend that you wear long pants or jeans, most definitely closed in footwear (preferably boots but not essential), and that you bring a hat for the times that we may be outside of the covered arena.

In the cooler months, we recommend you bring a jacket or sweater.

How long do the sessions last?

Generally our sessions run for two (2) hours, however you can stay for as long or as little as you like.   Our main aim is that this is a relaxing and enjoyable time for you and that you get the benefits of this type of diversional therapy.

If you have to leave early, that's ok.  Likewise if you are thoroughly enjoying your time with your horse and would like to stay a little longer then that's fine with us too.
